northfork Wrote:the fact that you could drive when the party was over sucks!
the main problem was kerfew.
Being under 18 yr old, can't be out after 11 pm without an excuse.
northfork Wrote:i love janis singing me and boby, she give it a nice soul addition , and the summertime version in winterland was really good. do you remember it?
the new guitar player was better than with big brother company i feel.
I'm not crazy about the song Summertime, not by anyone.
Have you heard it done by Richie Havens?
he is good but I just don't like the song.
northfork Wrote:and yeh, i heard about hendrix personality, i heard an interview with someone close to him saying hendrix didnt like playing in concerts after a while he just had enough, he stopped playing for the love of music, and started doing that for the audience demand.
He got arrogant and rude, shame on him!
northfork Wrote:did you ever see dylan? or baez? ray charles? james brown?
Joan Baez used to sing up there at Tele/Bancroft on the U.C. Campus, mostly for demonstrations.
I ran into her in the bathroom of the Coffee Cantata...
Not a James Brown fan .. Dylan either. I like a few of their records is all.
Santana was good in concert.
Lots of songs sound better on the album than "live"
..trying to think of a performer I really get goose bumps from .. B. B. King!
Ike and Tina were good togther .. John Lee Hooker was good in person too.
Know who had a real stage presence was Dianna Ross.
We saw her with the Supremes, even my Father was caught up by her.

Dylan did a song called Lay Lady Lay, I like that one a lot.
The one that defines him [in my mind] is Like A Rolling Stone
The other one of his I liked: let's go get stoned {I thought I had them but I don't

A song that I liked so much I wore it out is East/West by the Butterfield Blues Band.
My cousin had lots of Joan Baez, John Mayall, and he bought me Booker T.& the MGs Melting Pot
