same sex marriage
#1
marriage is a legal term allowing certain privileges & financial advantages to couples.   :marriage:

What the value is pertains to legal rights only granted to "legally married" people.

1. the right to visit in the hospital or other institution

2. the right to shared property, child support and etc granted to heterosexual unions.

i.m.o it is the disparity in the law that is at issue.
:gayflag:
same sex couples want the same advantages given to straight couples under the law.

Atheists marry and they are granted the same rights under the law.
their marriage is not sanctioned by religion but has the same legal interpretation.

What is the difference?

Any Civil Union granted by any state should hold the same weight in any other state.
for instance:

What if me and my same sex partner get in a car wreck in a state where our marriage is not allowed"

Are they going to allow me visiting rights at the hospital?

What if we buy property in a state where same sex marriages are not allowed"

Do we give up our right to use the divorce laws in that state?

personally I would never want to marry.
I won't need a judge to tell them to Go when it's over!
